Simone de Beauvoir:

His real name is Simone Lucie Ernestine Marie Bertrand de Beauvoir, she was born on January 9 of 1908, in Paris France and died on April 14 of 1986, at de age of 78 years old on Paris, France.

When Simone was 21 years old, she met Jean Paul Sartre and in a few months, their forming a partnership and romance that shape they life’s.
Simone de Beauvoir was a French intellectual writer, related to existentialist philosopher, social theorist and political feminist. She wrote novels, essays, biographies, autobiography and monographs.

“The second sex” is maybe the most important book that she wrote, this edition was published in 1949. His principal theory is that “the woman” is just a product of the culture that is built by the society. The woman has been defined, along the history, like a mother, like a wife, like a daughter, like a sister… So his principal work is recapture his own identity.

In my personal opinion, for me, in the camp on the feminist theory, she is one of the most important authors, because she lived  in the context of "cold war" in which all this political, economic and culture reforms arised.
